Switzerland County Tourism (SCT) invites amateur and professional photographers both in and out of state to not only capture fond memories while visiting Switzerland County, but to compete for at least $2400 in prize money—which includes a $1000 Grand Prize!
Entries are being sought for the Picture Switzerland County 2009 Quarterly Photo Contest—the first deadline is Dec. 10, 2008. Winning entries will be used to promote tourism and events for Switzerland County/Vevay through print and electronic materials. Additional deadlines are set for March 11, June 10 and Sept. 16, 2009.
Along with being the “Birthplace of the First Successful Commercial Winery in America”, Switzerland County is full of breath-taking scenery, wildlife, historical landmarks and friendly natives. SCT is searching for images that capture the beauty and essence of the people, places and events of the area.
Enter your best photos conveying: Switzerland County Events; Nature & Wildlife; Seasonal Switzerland County; Local Landmarks & Architecture; People Working & Playing in the County; Switzerland County Experiences and Everyday Life in Switzerland County.
There is no fee to enter, no age limit of participants and no limit to the number of entries that can be submitted. Only photographs taken within the Switzerland County limits within the last two years are eligible for the contest.

Why make photographers take the extra step of calling or e-mailing to get the rules.
It doesn’t cost a dime to post the rules online.

Hi MackeItsimple, and thank you for your comment. While we had all intentions of posting the contest rules on our website, we are in the process of creating a brand new site. (We’ll still be located at http://www.vevayin.com, however). We had hoped to debut the new site about the time the contest started however, things haven’t moved as quickly as we had hoped–it’s debut is still unknown at this time, although getting closer.
